Palatka es rápido, destructivo, devastador. Un sonido increíblemente potente y absolutamente genial.

Palatka nace en el '94, involucrados firmemente en el poco consecuente movimiento DIY de aquellos años. Dieron su primer show en el '95 yorganizaron sus propios tours autofinanciados. Kurt deja la banda por que tenía que estudiar en Europa, es por ese entonces que Palatka cambia su nombre a Ex-Best Friends. Una vez que Kurt regresa a América, Palatka vuelve a tomar su nombre original, tocando en muchos shows hasta su definitiva ruptura en el '99. A lo largo de sus 5 años, Palatka lanzó 3 splits (c/Hope Spring Eternal, The End of the Century Party y Asshole Parade), todas las canciones del End of Irony LP son de Ex-Best Friends y participaron en un enorme puñado de compilatorios.
